Loz Ives is a graphic designer from the UK with an impressive graphic design portfolio. His work is all photographed after its been printed, which really gives his portfolio life and a professional feeling. If you’re going to check out any of his pieces look at “Glitter Herpes” its great and shows the process of creating the poster, something you don’t often get to see on portfolio sites.

Most portfolio sites consist of very standard types of projects such as business card designs, websites, posters and such, so I found it very refreshing to find some snowboard designs on graphic design portfolio sites.

Sorry for the down time yesterday, we had an insane amount of traffic and our server was taking a beating. A few of our recent articles were very popular on stumble upon, then LifeHacker.com was kind enough to write about one of our posts, but to top it off we hit the front page of digg.com too which really did us in!
We’ve had over 50,000 visitors in the past two days and today should be another 20k+ day! I’m very happy about our recent stats, but once again I do apologize for the downtime. We upgraded our server again and we are also having the server optimized, so hopefully the site will be much faster soon!
We also know theres are some cross browser compatibility issues and all of that will be fixed promptly. Thanks everyone and I hope you are all enjoying the blog!
As a graphic designer I spend most of my time bettering my self at, well graphic design! The one thing I would love to get better at is coding websites, but I just don’t have the time right now, so I pay a professional to do my coding for me which saves me a lot of time and trouble. Speaking of which our new theme should be recoded very soon, just a few more days!
Internet Explorer is not dead yet,
but it sure seems to be getting close for sites with tech savvy users. I took a look at my browser stats recently and noticed that a large percentage of You the Designer’s readers use Firefox.
Being a graphic designer has made me fall in love with all things creative, including photography. In a previous article I mentioned the importance of building a strong foundation in one career first, such as graphic design and then branching out into other skills sets. One important area I have started to branch out into is photography. I spend a lot of time looking at photography portfolios and below you will find some of my favorite photos.
