“As the plane began preparing its ascent, the cabin crew requested that the passengers read the double-sided A4 leaflet informing us of plane safety and emergency procedures. Unlike the rest of the passengers, who were reading the instructions for emergency landings or checking that their life jacket was under their seat, I was, instead, quietly criticizing the typography and layout of the leaflet, sharing my thoughts with my brother who clearly had no interest in what I was saying. This is because graphic design is more than a hobby or a subject I study. It is my passion, and has integrated its way into my everyday life.”
