    LOL,
the last one looks like someone taking it from behind :)

  2. Gino   -   April 4, 2008 at 12:11 pm

hahahahah you are right I didn’t even notice that!

Maybe its not so splendid after all lol. Wow thats pretty bad now that I look at it. I wonder if it was intentional as a means of sneaky marketing. Logos like this always get a lot of exposure and back links.

The Greener logo is absolutely beautiful. It is very simple and elegant and I love that in logo design.

Helge, I thought the same thing when I saw it! :)

  5. Gino   -   April 4, 2008 at 12:50 pm

I agree Adam I think the Greener logo design is my fav along with the Jivespace one.

I would have to agree with everyone else about the iconfinder logo.

I suppose I’d be considered a traditionalist but I believe a successful logo should be just as dynamic as a simple black & white form as it is “blinged up” for the web. The only one of these that comes close is the jivespace logo.

what on earth does he 6th one say??? It’s pretty, but I can’t read it. “Peas”?

  9. Gino   -   April 4, 2008 at 5:45 pm

I think it really depends on the clients needs and what they are going to do with the logo and also the budget.

Its much more of an extensive project to create a logo and many different variations.

Some companies just wan a quick blinged up logo for their new start up company, but then you have very large companies who will want many variations and a style guide for their logo that specifies all kinds of rules for use of the logo in designs.

Here is a good example of Photoshop’s new logo. You will see a bunch of different variations of the logo such as the black and white and a binged up version.

He heh – glad it’s not just me then… I was worried about the state of my psyche when I saw the iconfinder one. Jivespace is the one that works best for me too.

I have submitted several of my logos but none have been excepted… :( I feel some of mine are way better than some on the site, but I am biased (lol).. but if you go to http://www.faveup.com right now, theres a foreign logo with a quote box for the newest designs section that is stupid.. and not creative at all,.. i dont know how some get picked and some don’t..

  13. Gino   -   April 6, 2008 at 1:54 am

Yeah who knows how the site is moderated, sometimes big sites outsource the moderating of the files submitted because they just get so many submissions.

Hopefully your future ones will make it!

On another note I think I’m gonna look fore more logos like the last one and make an example of how if you look carefully you can find hidden meanings in logos you may have not noticed at first glance! =)

I love them all apart from imaginarte.

I didn’t notice the problem with the Icon Finder logo until pointed out though!

Without reading the other comments first I thought does the 6th one say Play? It’s not the most practical logo for that reason I guess.

  15. JTFX   -   April 11, 2008 at 11:57 pm

That last one is a shocker.. . I hope it is a hidding joke cos otherwise you’d be gutted if you’d spent heaps putting that logo everywhere. But hey, we’re all talking about it though aren’t we? :-)

I think 3D is not good at logos, that doeasn’t mean that they don’t look nice but simple is always the better way to go.

The Jivespace logo makes me want to watch Star Wars… cool. Two thumbs up…

i like all the works but the first one is best….

I agree with Colourblogger ,3D is not the best option for a logo design
