These look a lot like the posters that Joseph Goebbels produced back in 1943 to promote the V-2. Same sort of sparkly backgrounds, very much like the last image, but with a rocket in place of the motorbikes.

I think I even know who started it…. http://www.aeiko.net or http://www.wirestyle.deviantart.com , he’s been doing these kids of effects for a while now, well before the trend fired up.
