Today, we’ll take a look at some popular fashion websites. To many, they would be fierce and exceptional, to others, they might be somewhat lacking. These websites, after all, don’t follow rules that govern corporate websites. It just so happens that this industry is capable of creating their own standards that the world is happy to follow.
Whether or not you agree, these websites are quite inspiring. They offer a lot of insight that one may generally not get from other sites. Their approach, needless to say, is a far cry from most of our previous showcases. Most of the time the theme is straight to the point that the eye is never lost from the main focal point–the apparel. So what makes these websites stand out? We will all soon find out.

The use of big photos make it easier to make the website communicate and get it visually attractive. The images are really important and make or break the design in most cases.
Most of these websites make their brand communicate through the images, and the design of the website is mostly easy and clear.
I think ARTHUR GALAN is a perfect example of this; minimal design + photography.
It instantly gives the viewer the idea of the brand.
Since the fashion industry is all about the image of the brand, and photography is the best tool to communicate that particular image. The design of the website is just a helping hand.
One thing is for sure, it makes the industry much more alive.
Independently from how they look (not all that great, in my mind), these sites are unbelievably slow and difficult to navigate.
The sites are too busy visually. I prefer clean lines.
Very nice collection, thanks for sharing
Great post, lovely designs and yes for established brands’ websites they dont have to follow the usual rules.
I really liked Givenchy/Hermes/Lacoste’s.
Like an above poster pointed out fashion web is all about communicating their brand image.
These look more like magazine spreads than actual websites, but I guess that’s the point.
I prefer simple looking websites that focus more on the actual content.
Tommy Hilfiger very cool. great article and thank you.
