Inspiration October 12, 2013

It’s that time of the year again where ghouls, vampires and other things that go bump in the night are celebrated. Now that Halloween is just around the corner, we are gracing it by going down the memory lane for some good ol’ vintage horror movie posters.

There are many ways people celebrate the Halloween, some dress up by themselves or with their kids others retrofit their house to turn it into a horror house and then there are those who rent out horror films to watch with their buddies. Whatever way you are celebrating this Halloween we have lined up some really amazing vintage horror movie posters for your inspiration!

Back in the day where CGI effects are just a thing in the future most movies would rely in amazing prop work and makeup. The same goes for posters which requires an insane amount of skill and talent when creating them. One cannot help but marvel on the beauty of these vintage posters since it shows a different level of craftsmanship in making them. The poster’s typography and illustration are marvelous and amazing that most posters created in the golden days are considered as pieces of art.

Because of the amazing workmanship these made some vintage horror movie posters not only collectible but also really valuable pieces of art. Dracula starring Belo Lugosi was sold for a whooping $310,700 according to an article in The Guardian. While The Mummy with the infamous Boris Karloff was sold for an amazing $435,500 in 1997.
