The Museum of Arts for the Arts (MofAA) was established to be the leading virtual art and image museum in the world, and currently holds one of the largest and most prized collections of images known to man; from Daguerreotype to Hubble, from Lascaux to Warhol, MofAA holds some of the most famous artists and art objects from the art world.
Alex Haigh is graphic designer with a great portfolio of work including identity designs, print designs, digital art and typefaces. He is also part of the young and dynamic studio called ThinkDust which specializes in branding, graphic design and new media work.

The entire site is neatly organized by categories, tags and even by colors! You can also subscribe to their feed to get the latest inspiration in your rss reader.
Aaron Johnson over at What the Duck was kind enough to send me a link to his latest comic strip which I thought was pretty funny and you can view below. He publishes new strips relating to design on a regular basis, so keep an eye out!
LiveSurface is well known for its great blank templates which can be used to showcase your work. They have many different sets available including a billboard set, food set and a booklet set.
I recently stumbled across this free icons website that has a large collection of high quality icons for download. The quality really amazed me and there are over 15 different categories to choose from. As usual make sure to take note of any usage terms before you get excited and start downloading a bunch of free icons!
As designers we handle computer files all day long and some of these files can be extremely large in size, especially when working on high resolution projects such as posters. Once you are done designing the files usually go to either the client or the printer. Often the files are too large for email, and uploading via FTP isn’t really a great solution because you are using up your bandwidth and disk space. Then you still need to send an email with a download link.

I was looking through the Adobe Design Center recently and noticed they had some really great free resources there! The one that caught my eye the most was the Adobe Video Workshop. The Adobe Video Workshop has dozens and dozens of free video tutorials for 20 different Adobe products. You can find tutorials by selecting one of the 20 products such as Photoshop CS3 or you can find videos by topic such as page layout and design.
Adobe has just released an online application called Photoshop Express which is basically a smaller version of Photoshop geared towards photo editing. It is not as extensive as Photoshop obviously, but it is online and free! Some of the features include resize, tint, distort, red eye removal and much more. You can also ad effects to your photos such as pop color, sketch, hue, black & white and so on.
Famfamfam.com is known for its free icons and these 3 sets have been around for a while. If you haven’t come across these free computer icons, flag icons and web icons you don’t know what you are missing! These are probably the three most useful free icons sets I have ever come across. They are well executed and can be applied to many design projects. Enjoy the free icons!
