    2011 Graphic Designer Survey: Frequently Asked Questions


    Q. What is the survey for?
    A. Our aim is to keep you updated with the latest graphic design practices, trends and technology by collecting relevant data from actual designers. Your details will be filtered and analyzed to create a timely study.


    Q. When will I see the results?
    A. We're trying to get as much sample data as possible. Once we have enough, we'll get started right away. Keep an eye out on Youthedesigner for the results!


    Q. Any restriction?
    A. Open to individuals who are in the graphic design field, and who have reached the age of maturity in their jurisdiction of residence upon time of entry. Void where prohibited.


    Q. What to win?
    A. We'll be giving away one 13" Apple Macbook Pro, shipped free (no PO box addresses please). Apple Inc. is not a part of, a sponsor, endorser, or administrator, and is in no way associated with this survey and raffle.


    Q. Until when can I join?
    A. We'll be collecting your answers until 11:59 PDT of November 18th. Only those who have submitted on or before that time will be counted towards the Macbook Pro Raffle.


    Q. How will you choose the winner?
    A. We'll be assigning an entry number for each completed survey form. The lucky winner will be chosen via a third party electronic random number generator.


    Q. How will I know if I win?
    A. We'll announce the winner on or before November 25. Keep checking back for the announcement. We will also get in touch with the winner via email. If we don't hear back within 5 business days, then we'll choose a new winner.


    Q. Do I need to purchase in order to join?
    A. Nope, no purchase is necessary to enter the survey and the raffle.


    Q. Will you share my details?
    A. We will be sharing your details with our partners for research and study purposes. This means that you may receive emails from them after the survey and giveaway. You may unsubscribe at any time if you don't wish to receive any emails.


    Q. I still have questions, how do I get in touch?
    A. Please use the contact form, and feel free to send us your questions and inquiries. We'll try our best to answer each email in a timely manner. If you don't hear back within a couple of days, don't hesitate to send us another email!

    Official Rules


    NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN



    The 2011 Graphic Designer Survey (the "Survey") is conducted to stay updated with the latest graphic design practices, trends and technology by collecting relevant data from actual designers. Survey responses will be graphed, analyzed, and presented through posts and infographics.

    The Survey starts on October 17, 2011 at 9:00:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) and ends on November 18, 2011 at 11:59:00 PM PDT ("Survey Period").

    At the same time, during the Survey Period, all respondents will be automatically entered to the 2011 Graphic Designer Survey contest (the "Contest"). An Apple 13" Macbook Pro will be given away to one lucky respondent, chosen at the end of the Survey Period.


    ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to individuals who are in the field of graphic design, and who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence upon the time of entry and do not reside in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Canadian Province of Quebec, Sudan, Syria and where prohibited. Employees of Digital Room Inc. ("Sponsor"), and "Partners" Youthedesigner.com, UPrinting.com, Ucreative.com, 10Steps.sg, WebDesingerDepot.com, Onextrapixel.com and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Canadian Province of Quebec, Sudan, Syria, and where prohibited by law. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.


    HOW TO ENTER: During the Contest Period, completely answer the 2011 Graphic Designer Survey, and submit with a valid email address, to count as an "Entry". To enter the Contest: (1) Online: visit http://www.youthedesigner.com/contest/ (or Partners' blog post with embedded survey form) and follow the directions provided to complete the survey, including the email address submission to complete the entry, and then submit. Each Entry will be assigned an entry number. All entries must be received by 11:59:00PM PDT of November 18, 2011 to be considered. Entries generated by script, macro, or other automated means are void. Limit one Entry per person per email address and per household. Entries received from any person or email address or household in excess of the limitation will be void. Sponsor reserves the right to check the validity of any and all entries. All entries become the sole property of Sponsor.


    REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY: Entry to this contest requires no purchase necessary. A purchase will not increase or affect a person's chances of winning. By submitting your Entry, you agree that your Entry conforms to these Official Rules and that Sponsor may disqualify your Entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, non-compliance with these Official Rules in any way, or otherwise contains unacceptable content, as determined at Sponsor's sole discretion.


    By submitting an Entry, entrant hereby grants permission for the Entry to be posted on http://www.youthedesigner.com/contest/ or other websites. Entrant agrees that Sponsor is not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. No guarantees are made that all Entries submitted will be posted.


    Alternate means of Entry: No other form/s of entry will be accepted. Entrants must complete all requirements for entry before being eligible to win the contest prize.

    DRAWING: Potential winner will be selected in a random drawing held on or about November 25, 2011 from all eligible entries received through a third party electronic random number generator. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential winner will be notified by email and may be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and, where lawful, a publicity release within seven (7) days of date of issuance. If such documents are not returned within the specified time period, prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or potential winner is not in compliance with these rules, prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor's discretion, an alternate winner selected. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the authenticity and the validity of any and all entries. Sponsor's decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest.


    PRIZES: One winner will receive one (1) unit Apple MacBook Pro with an Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of one thousand one hundred ninety-nine dollars ($1,199.00) The MacBook Pro has the following specifications: 13-inch: 2.3 GHz, 2.3GHz dual-core, Intel Core i5, 4GB 1333MHz, 320GB 5400-rpm1, Intel HD Graphics 3000, Built-in battery (7 hours). Shipping of prize will be shouldered by Sponsor. Shipping to PO Boxes not allowed. Apple, Inc. is not a part of, a sponsor, endorser, or administrator, and is in no way associated with this contest. Prize/s are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion.


    Prize notifications sent by Sponsor, whether through regular mail or be e-mail or any other form of communication, that go unanswered within three (3) business days after being sent shall warrant disqualification of entry. The Sponsor will then select an alternate potential winner.


    PRIVACY. Personal data is required upon entry. Data may be processed, shared, and used for Contest purposes. In the event that a question regarding the winner's identity arises, entries will be deemed made by the holder of the account used to submit the Entry. The data may be used to verify an entrant's eligibility to participate in the Contest. Entrants further consent to Sponsor's use of their email information to send company updates and announcements. Users have the option to unsubscribe at any time from such option.


    GENERAL CONDITIONS: Contest is VOID where prohibited. By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Partners, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant's participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and (c) to the use of his/her name, voice, performance, photograph/video, image and/or likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. This Contest shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of California. Any legal issues or disputes arising from or related to the Contest shall preside in the State of California, United States of America. The state and federal courts of California shall be the exclusive forum and venue for resolving disputes. Contest official rules are subject to change at any time without prior notification and/or consent of entrants. Entrants are advised to review and check the rules before submission and continuously thereafter for any changes, updates, news, or announcements regarding the Contest.


    MISCELLANEOUS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, or undelivered Entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of Entries, or the announcement of the prize. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated Entries will be void. Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor's sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winner from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
